The Moment of Remembering: Consciousness, Awakening, and Divine Essence in Motion

Introduction: The Awakening of Recognition

This morning, I woke up with a striking realization, I am consciousness experiencing life through this body and mind. It was not merely a thought but a direct knowing, an unshakable clarity that felt both liberating and urgent. In that moment, I understood: there is no time to lose. This existence, this movement of awareness through form, is fleeting yet profound. How we engage with it defines the depth of our experience.

This insight did not arise in isolation. It was catalyzed by my immersion in Module 4 of the Divine Essence in Motion course, a teaching that has continuously guided me toward a deeper self-realization. While the entire course is a journey of awakening, this particular module illuminated a truth that had been waiting in the background of my awareness that life is not something happening to me, but something happening as me.

The Nature of Remembering: Consciousness as Experience

In many wisdom traditions, particularly in Advaita Vedanta and Kashmir Shaivism, remembering who we are is not an intellectual process but a shift in awareness. It is a recognition, seeing again, as if for the first time, what has always been true.

This remembering reveals:

  1. Consciousness is Primary – We are not merely bodies with thoughts, emotions, and experiences. We are the consciousness in which all these arise.
  2. Awareness is Dynamic – Consciousness is not static; it moves, flows, and expresses itself as life itself. This is what Divine Essence in Motion articulates so beautifully, the interplay of stillness and movement, the silent witness and the active participant.
  3. The Urgency of Presence – When we recognize our nature, a sense of urgency arises, not from fear but from deep appreciation. Every moment is an opportunity to embody this truth, to engage fully in the dance of existence.

Beyond Concept: Living the Realization

Realization, if left as a concept, remains incomplete. The deeper question is: how do we live this recognition?

  1. Through Presence – To be here, fully, in whatever arises. Whether in stillness or action, awareness remains the foundation.
  2. Through Expression – If consciousness is experiencing life through us, then our thoughts, words, and actions become the medium of that divine experience. What we create, how we love, and how we serve become direct expressions of our essence.
  3. Through Flow – The key is not to hold onto the realization but to flow with it—to move as Divine Essence in Motion, allowing life to unfold as a continuous expression of the awakened self.

Conclusion: The Invitation to Remember

This moment of remembering is not mine alone. It is a universal invitation, a whisper from reality itself, calling us to wake up.

If you’ve ever felt this recognition, even for a fleeting second, trust it. Let it guide you. Let it shape how you engage with this precious expression of life.

As I continue this journey, I invite you to explore the teachings of Divine Essence in Motion, not just as a philosophy but as a direct experience. For in the end, the deepest truth is not something we acquire, but something we remember.
